Gamepad implementation

Post by perigalacticon on Wed Feb 01, 2017 3:48 am

Is there any chance RoboRemo could be used with a tablet or phone gamepad such as any of these:

Ipega PG-9023 Bluetooth Gamepad Controller

MOGA Pro Power

Or maybe one that connects to the tablet by usb cable rather than BT...

This would be an awesome robot controller, considering you could use the physical controls in addition to any pre-programmed controls on the phone, and the phone could be used for video transmission?

I would pay you for an app to do that ! Smile

Hi,
So you want the app to receive the input from the gamepad? I may add that in the future, but I can not promise, since I have to work on other projects.
But here is another solution:
If the gamepad is wireless, you can create a robot that connects to both gamepad and RoboRemo, so the gamepad controls the robot, and the image from robot's camera is received in RoboRemo (using image item). I also want to make such a robot when I will have more free time.

The gamepad and app would work together.  The gamepad has some buttons, but if you want the robot to do many things the tablet is necessary to add more controls, and most importantly to provide information and data and feedback to the user.  I'd be glad to help you test it.
